The Physical Edition reception has been INCREDIBLE!
This last week we unveiled our partnership with Premium Edition Games, and brought you 3 incredible special editions, and your support of this has been mind-blowing. Our campaign has jumped in funding at a level I never expected. I am without words at the thought that all of you will have a permanent piece of this game on your shelves, truly a childhood dream fulfilled, and I can't thank you all enough.
I wanted to take a little time, and make a new small FAQ on some of the questions we have been getting this week to hopefully make the answers a little more visible for everyone.
FAQ
I'm already a backer, but I want to add some of the new physical / digital rewards to my pledge, how can I do this? We tried to set up all our tiers so that you can add any reward you like to them. If you want to add some of the new treasures to your pledge, just follow these steps:
Select "Manage pledge"
Select "Change your pledge"
Once there just keep your selection, no need to change it to something else.
Click on "Payment Info"
Once there up at the top where it shows "Rewards > Add-ons > Payment" you should now be able to click on the "Add-ons" and it'll take you to the page where you can select the add-ons.
Then proceed to complete the pledge again.
Will Seed of Nostalgia be translated into other languages? Yes, we want to bring the game to as many different native languages as possible! We have already confirmed localization into PT-BR and Spanish. Since the localization process has to largely occur when all of the dialog in the game is complete, this is really something that will be happening closer to release. I have already added French, German, Japanese, and Italian to our list of most requested languages, and I will be locating and vetting translation specialists for these languages as development continues.
Will these rewards be available after your campaign? Yes! We will have late pledges available for the campaign rewards here, as well as available on our upcoming Backerkit Storefront. That way if you weren't able to grab something this month, or want to get something extra later when you have the means, you will be able to find these options on either platform.
How will we confirm our rewards after the campaign? We will be working with Backerkit after the campaign is finished to create an extensive survey that will be sent out to every single backer. This survey will have you confirm all of the important details of your order, including your digital key platform of choice, shipping information, and more.
Does the game have random encounters? No, there are no random and bothersome enemy encounters in Seed of Nostalgia. Instead we are trying to take the best elements of each encounter system and create a hybrid approach. Many of the encounters of the game are scripted, chrono trigger style, but we also wanted to add that element of surprise and danger that random encounters offered, so in field and dungeon areas a lot of encounters are represented by an "entity" sprite. These encounter entities roam the area with a field of vision that will trigger them to chase you. If you trigger the encounter it will start a battle in that area, and you will never know exactly what you will face, including rare and elite encounters.
Why do the physical editions not come with a digital key? Unfortunately these rewards need to stay completely separate for tracking sales and manufacturing funds so I need to have a distance between them on the campaign. However, any physical order can add-on a digital key for any platform they choose now, or through late pledges or the Backerkit store.

It feels completely surreal that we only have 2 stretch goals remaining with over a week still left in the tank. You have helped us expand Seed of Nostalgia into a game that will be truly legendary. With all of these new features and systems, we are aiming to create a world and adventure that you will want to get lost in time and time again.
Original Anime Short: With the most recent goal unlocked, we will now be partnering with NetherTales studio to create a very special Anime Short, portraying the events of the 1000 years leading up to the start of the game. This will not only fill in the blanks with the world history and lore, but also just be a gorgeous representation of the world and characters. Something to enjoy and get excited about before Seed of Nostalgia officially launches.
Tailor NPCs and New unlockable cosmetic Character Appearances.
After we crossed the 160k stretch-goal, we will now be adding unique Tailor NPCs to all of the major regions of the game. These new characters will allow you to purchase region specific new cosmetic character appearances for gold. On top of this, by completing side content and quests in each region, you can unlock rare special cosmetic appearances, adding another layer of rewards for completing each area.
We are currently in wave 2 of our community goals and you are off to a great start! We are super close to several of these points, and thus, unlocking even more awesome content and bonus features in Seed of Nostalgia.

Physical special editions are now live on our campaign for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5!!!
This has been a long time coming, since before I had even launched the campaign, I heard from countless people that they would love physical editions of the game as rewards. After almost 2 months of research, planning, contracts, and meetings, I am so unbelievably excited we can finally offer these rewards. We have partnered with Premium Edition Games to bring you these superior quality physical versions. They are the only company I trust to not cut corners and deliver collectible editions of the highest quality. I hope you are as excited as we are, here is a breakdown of the editions:
All 3 of these physical editions can be attained either by pledging at one of our 3 new physical reward tiers, OR, by adding one of the new standalone "add-ons" by adjusting your current pledge. This will allow you to retain any rewards or early bird discounts you have, AND grab one of these limited physical editions.
How do I add these new versions to my existing pledge?
Select "Manage pledge"

KS exclusive Plushies are in the works!
We are working with Premium Edition Games to also offer some fun plushies of some of the characters in the game. We still need a little time to finalize all the details on these, but in the meantime, I wanted to open this up our community. I will be running a poll on our official Discord server today. If you would like to be involved in deciding the first 2 characters we will make, then join us and the conversation today!

As I'm writing this we have officially hit the 2 week, half-way point on the campaign. I have to say we are even further ahead than I had hoped we would be at this point. To celebrate the half-way point, and the HUGE milestone of 100k reached, I am revealing the final remaining stretch-goals for the campaign. I hope you are as absolutely excited as we are, and can help us continue to spread the word so we can keep adding more amazing content to Seed of Nostalgia. Thank you all for the wild ride so far. 💚

You asked for it, and we are bringing it to you! Some time this week we will be bringing brand new Limited Physical Editions to our campaign. It was a very long road to get here, with plenty of disappointments along the way, but this has led to meeting a wonderful partner and manufacturer who will ensure that these are the most quality and impressive physical releases you could imagine. These will be offered for Nintendo Switch (standard and special edition) and PlayStation 5. While these are the only platforms we can offer at the moment, rest assured that if it makes sense to open up additional additions later on, we will fully be pursuing those options. Look forward to the announcement in the next backer-update when these will be live on the campaign.

What a mind-bending first week we have had!
Your support has continued to flood in and we have managed to check off one stretch goal a day on average. That is just crazy awesome! I wanted to wait a few days to drop this update while a few final things fell into place! So I hope you are as excited as we are at this point, and ready to join us on this journey as we bring Seed of Nostalgia to life!
Our 7th Stretch-Goal is officially in-the-bag! INCREDIBLE! You have officially unlocked a 7th playable character to further fill out the story, and strategic combat options. This character, who will remain a surprise for now, also brings with them an all new class and weapon type. Expanding our skill tree and crafting system with loads of new options!
The fog lays dormant for now, further efforts will be required to push it back...
Consoles are unlocking soon!
We are getting closer and closer to our 80k stretch-goal! I know a LOT of people have been waiting for this, and we are extremely excited about it! I wanted to just briefly touch on the topic before any official announcement as I've had some questions.
If you chose the 'Game Tier' or 'Game+OST' tier you will be able to exchange your Steam or PC game key for a Console Key of your choice by selecting one of our new "Console Key Exchange' add-ons to add to your pledge. (Once unlocked, this can be done until the campaign is over.)
If you chose the 'Digital Collectors Tier' or any tier above that, you automatically receive 2 Steam or PC keys with your pledge, you will be able to exchange one of these keys to any of the console platforms we offer without the need of the add-on, if you would like the other provided game key to also be for console, you can do so by adding 1x 'Console Key Exchange' Addons to your pledge at any time.
Quick Console FAQ:
Why do we have to add an 'add-on' to our pledge? There are several reasons behind this one, first, I am actively talking with a wonderful partner behind-the-scenes making a master plan for console ports and possibly console publishing. While this is definitely fantastic news, there are variables that need to be taken into consideration: Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft do not allow us to generate download keys on our own the way that platforms like Steam do. Instead, they would likely make us purchase those keys at or near cost. Since we can't know at this phase what the msrp of a console version will end up being after the porting process for each platform, we have to assume there will be an additional cost. Second, KS does not make it easy to change the wording or rewards of a Tier once backers have chosen it. Since that tier was for a PC game key, it will make it easier to track and fulfill the correct version you actually want post-campaign, and when the time comes for release.
Will there be a Physical version available? The answer to this is both no, and yes. I have been researching and talking with several parties I was hoping could help us bring awesome physical editions to our campaign, since months before we hit launch. In this time I have gotten as far as reading contracts on 2 separate occasions, sadly neither of these options would be a good fit for us as a developer, and possibly for you as well. From down right exploitive 'deals' which would only harm the future potential of the game, to seemingly great options that only offer 1 or 2 options, leaving out part of our audience on platforms that aren't supported. As well as issues I've seen with massive shipping delays and more. What I can tell you is this: I am 100% pushing and planning on offering a physical and even special edition of Seed of Nostalgia for every platform possible. It's just something that may be announced further along during the development cycle. I wouldn't feel right offering them now just to get some quick support, only to have them arrive in a disappointing presentation, or worse, not show up until a year or more later.
Will it be on Switch 2? Yes! As the console porting process itself won't start in principal until the game is closer to content complete, we will likely be porting to every supported platform at the time of the games official release.

Backers of this selected tier not only get to create their Custom NPC in the game and a cozy house interior for them, but now this also includes your own custom PET that will join your NPC in their shiny new space.
Physical Original Soundtrack CD now available (add-on)
If you would like to own this special piece of the game in your collection, simply add the 'Add-On' for it when selecting your pledge tier. If you are already one of our beloved supporters, you can adjust your pledge at any time until the campaign is over, and select the 'Add-On' for the soundtrack to your pledge to receive this reward.
